We would like to welcome Muslimah Miah to Align Therapies!
Muslimah is a qualified Integrative Counsellor having completed a BA hons in Psychology and Counselling and Fda in Integrative Counselling. Muslimah is currently completing a MSC in Mental Health Science and she is a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and British Association of Psychology.
Muslimah has an integrative and creative approach to counselling so can adapt her approach according to the needs and goals of her clients. The fundamental foundations of her approach include the importance of empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard. Muslimah feels that we all can heal, when we feel heard.
Muslimah has supported adults, children, young people and couples over the past 10 years across a variety settings as a Counsellor, Youth Worker, Group facilitator, Support worker, Scheme Manager, Independent Domestic Abuse Worker and Play Worker.

Muslimah has experience in working within an Islamic counselling framework, and adapting her needs to the BME community and working with cultural related issues which include force marriage and FGM. She can provide counselling in Bengali and understands Hindi and Urdu.
Muslimah believes counselling can help further develop inner resources, allowing the individual to live life more fully, which can be of value far beyond the counselling experience.
Muslimah is an experienced qualified counsellor. She has a wide range of experiences of working with clients in various settings and environments. Her experiences include clients of all ages, from the age of very young to more mature clients, and diverse groups.
Muslimah is qualified as an integrative counsellor, qualified from St David’s Trinity in Carmarthenshire. She has also completed a BA Hons in Psychology and counselling and currently in the process of completing her MSC in Mental Health Science.
The counselling approach is integrative, meaning the approach is adapted to the needs and goals of the client.
The client being the focus of the therapy, huge value is emphasised on the core conditions of empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard.
The counselling work includes working creatively using direct and indirect methods to achieve therapeutic goals.
